Michigan Arts & Culture Council announces grant awards

Student ceramic art and sculptures was on display through in early 2026 at the Oliver Art Center in Frankfort. The art center was awarded a grant from the Michigan Arts & Culture council.

The Michigan Arts & Culture Council received a total of 677 applications, with requests totaling $24,591,642. This marks the second year of its updated grant program, which incorporates improvements developed alongside the Office of Continuous Improvement.

All applicants will receive an email message indicating if they were or were not awarded funding in fiscal year 26. If applicants have questions about their application, they can refer to their SmartSimple account for feedback and to review the guidelines and the accompanying appendix, which provides a direct comparison of the required documents versus what was submitted.


In Manistee County, the Vogue Theatre received $20,000.

In Benzie County, the following four organizations received funding:

  • Benzie Area Symphony Orchestra – $23,847
  • Elizabeth Lane Oliver Center for the Arts – $43,100
  • Friends of Point Betsie Lighthouse – $1,200
  • Michigan Legacy Art Park – $45,910

In Mason County, the Mason County District Library received $8,00
